HOLIDAY CONCERT

Our annual Holiday Concert is always a great way to celebrate the season with fun, friends, and music. And this year we are planning an audacious look at the holidays as only NOGMC can do it! We hope you'll join us for the holidays Friday, December 12 at 8:00 pm at the UNO Performing Arts Center and Saturday December 13 at 8:00 pm at the Baton Rouge Unitarian Church.

Rehearsals for the Holiday Concert start September 2. See the "Join Us!" link to the left for more information.

"HOME" Concert

Thanks to everyone who made our HOME concert such a success! We hope you were as inspired by the message as we were. It truly was a testament to the strength, endurance, and hope of the residents of southern Louisiana!

As was announced in the concert, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Quire, Eastern Iowa's GLBT Chorus, to help them with their rebuilding effort. And we may add other sister choruses to this list as we find out about those who were impacted by the recent high levels of the Mississippi River. Community outreach has always been a part of NOGMC. But this concert was all about our gratitude for the love and support we received when we needed help, and it is so appropriate that we take this opportunity to widen our definition of community and give to those in need across our nation!

GALA 2008

We had a great time at GALA Festival 8! We performed selections from our HOME concert to a packed house on July 13. Our VP Kelly Kerr delivered a very emotional speech thanking GALA for their support with our recovery efforts. If you were at GALA and would like to provide them feedback, please click here. (NOGMC is a charter member of GALA.)

NOGMC Does It Again!

For the third year in a row the New Orleans Gay Men's Chorus has been the proud recipient of the Gay Appreciation Award(GAA) committee's Performing Arts Award.

Through our musical concerts and community efforts, the GLBT community has seen fit to bestow this honor upon us for both 2006 and 2007. What makes this award so special and meaningful to us is that it is an award voted on by the popular vote of the people in our community, sort of like the People's Choice Awards.

NOGMC is very grateful to the community for their continued support going on now for 26 years.

Board Meeting

The Board typically meets the first Sunday of every month at 3:00 p.m. in the Lesbian and Gay Community Center of New Orleans. However, due to other committments, our next board meeting is scheduled Sunday, August 10.  Call for details.

New Phone Number

After many years of generous individuals allowing their personal phones to be used as the contact number for NOGMC, we now have our own portable phone number. If you would like to contact us by phone, please call 504-322-7007.
